This animation video began several years back when I had a striking daydream involving a dark ride (roller-coaster ride in the dark). I wrote the sections of music based on what I was imagining. At the time, I was also watching a variety of old TV westerns. The compositional process was very quick and I recorded all of the guitar, bass and organ parts. This was around 2013. I shelved the music and hoped to have it animated some time in the near future.

Jump ahead to 2019. I had Ottawa drummer Jeff Asselin add drums to my existing recording. Then, with more time on my hands due to the pandemic lockdowns, I wrote an outline of the story and concept. I was referred to an animator named Andres Olmos and over the next 2 1/2 years, we worked on and off on the project with his drawing and animation skills helping to bring my music and vision to life. The result you see involved many hours back and forth between us.

If you have questions about the content after watching it, I will not likely be able to answer them. I simply don't know. Where the main character came from and what eventually happens to him are a mystery, even to me. And I like it that way. Even daydreams can defy explanation. All I can say is that I hope you enjoy the music and the ride!
